June 17, 2018 "Godly Fathers" - Genesis 22:9-12 Pastor Ralph Crowder
Abraham was the father of our faith. He acted in faith when he left his home and journeyed to Canaan at GOD'S command.
Abraham was a Godly father who obeyed GOD'S command to sacrifice his son Issac on Mount Moriah.
Because of his obedience, GOD blessed Abraham, and all generations were blessed and continue to be blessed through him.
What are the traits of a Godly father? -He has GREAT FAITH -He INFLUENCES those around him in a positive way. -He is RESPECTED by his family and friends. -He has GODLY FEAR -He is a BLESSING to others.

"Valuing One Another" - 1 Corinthians 12:14-18 Pastor Ralph Crowder
A man once discovered an old Bible and threw it away. Only after he threw it away that he discovered its true value - it was an original Gutenberg Bible worth millions.
Too many times, we in the church don't value each other because we don't realize our true value.
The Church at Corinth had that same problem- and it diminished their effectiveness.
EVERY MEMBER of the Church has value because: -We are called by the same GOD -We all have the same Spirit -We are all placed by GOD in His Church for His purpose.
We're all in this together. When we value each other: - We ENCOURAGE each other -We LOVE unconditionally -We LIFT UP each other -We REJOICE with each other -We SUFFER together
We all have value because Jesus valued us so highly that he gave His life for us.
If we value GOD, we must value the people of GOD.
June 3, 2018 "When Trouble Brought Joy" - Acts 8:1-8
Pastor Ralph Crowder
Trouble came to the first century church when Saul began to persecute many Christians.
Because of this, the church was scattered, and Philip found himself in Samaria.
Philip preached the Gospel in Samaria - and many souls were delivered from sin as a result.
GOD used trouble to bring great joy to Samaria.
As Christians, trouble will come to each of our lives. But GOD can use trouble to bring great joy in our lives.
The key is the Gospel - and its power through the Holy Spirit to work all things for our good, even in the midst of trouble.
Jesus had trouble when He endured the cross for our sins. But His trouble brings us great joy through His forgiveness and salvation.
May 27, 2018 "We Are Family!" - Psalm 133:1-3; St. John 17:20-22; Ephesians 4:3-6 Rev. Keith Burton
The Church of Jesus Christ is a family - GOD expects us to live together in unity.
The Church cannot be the church without unity.
Unity in the church starts with love. It takes COMMITMENT, not just involvement.
Unity in the church must mirror the unity of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
We must act in love towards each other, use our words to help each other, not hurt each other, and we must support our Pastor.
We're all in this together - we need to look out for each other and build each other up.
Unity is pleasing to GOD and it brings blessings to the church. When we dwell together in unity, we are consecrated and empowered to impact the world.
We're a family- we must do everything TOGETHER.

"The Solution" - John 12:23-32
Pastor Ralph Crowder
To date, there has been, on average, 1 school shooting every week this year.
We have a problem in this country, and we are looking for solutions in all the wrong places.
The Solution is not gun control, more prison cells, or in the government. The solution is in JESUS.
While the problems of the world may trouble us, they are no surprise to GOD. He sent Jesus to put us at peace.
The solution to life's problems is to lift up Jesus:
-Lift Him up by talking about Him to everyone we know.
-Lift Him up by letting His light shine in us.
-Lift Him up by teaching and preaching about Him.
As the Church, our purpose is to let our light shine in a dark world.
May 13, 2018 "A Good Example To Follow" - 1 Samuel 1:11-15 Pastor Ralph Crowder
We all encounter problems in our lives. When we do, we need a good example to follow.
Hannah is a good example of a praying mother.
Hannah had a problem - she couldn't have children.
The way she approach her problem is a good example for us to follow: -She took her problem to GOD. -She prayed in accordance with GOD'S Will. -She kept her promise to GOD.
Whenever we have problems, we should follow Hannah's example: -By taking our problems to GOD, we acknowledge that only He can fix them. -When we pray in accordance to GOD'S Will, He hears us. -GOD always keeps His promises to us, so we must keep our promises to Him.
April 29, 2017 "Give Ye Them To Eat" - Matthew 14:16-19 Rev. Roy Thorpe
All of us have something to give in this world - but many people take more than they give.
When Jesus told the disciples "Give Ye them to eat," they didn't have much to give.
When they gave what they had, Jesus multiplied it.
The same is true for us - when we are willing to give what we have to GOD, He has the power to multiply what we give.
Jesus is the ultimate giver - He gave His life for us and gives us the power to live in victory.
GOD gave His best for us - we must give our best to GOD.
April 22, 2018 "The GOD We Serve" - Nehemiah 9:16-20 Pastor Ralph Crowder
Too many people have a distorted view of who GOD is. Many see GOD as vengeful, spiteful and mean.
But that's NOT the GOD we serve.
As Christians, we need to have a healthy fear (respect) of GOD, but understand His true nature.
The GOD we serve is a MERCIFUL GOD.
Even when we are disobedient: -He STAYS with us - never abandons us -He TEACHES us -He FEEDS and TAKES CARE of us
The GOD we serve offers us something BETTER than the world.
When we know the GOD we serve, we can LIVE RIGHT, LOVE RIGHT AND SERVE RIGHT.
The GOD we serve is: -A GREAT GOD -A COMPASSIONATE GOD -A LOVING GOD -A FORGIVING GOD.
April 15, 2018 "I Am What I Am By The Grace of GOD" - 1 Corinthians 15: 1-10 Pastor Ralph Crowder
People do crazy things in this world - even Christians.
When we do wrong, we know what we're doing is wrong, yet we do it anyway. Why? Because we are weak and feeble.
We always know better when we do wrong, but we can only do better by GOD'S grace and mercy.
GOD'S grace keeps us - no matter how many times we stray.
Everything we do - good or bad - works together for GOD'S glory because of GOD'S grace.
April 8, 2018 "Get Past the Past & Finish Strong" - Acts 9:1-6
Pastor Ralph Crowder
Why do we as Christians struggle in so many areas in our lives? Because we refuse to let go of what happened in our past.
GOD wants to move us forward, but holding on to the past holds us back.
After Saul met Jesus on the Damascus road, he had to let go of the past for GOD to take him forward.
Whatever happened in your past - whoever hurt you, whatever hardships you endured - it doesn't matter how you START, but how you FINISH.
What do we need to do? -LISTEN to GOD when He speaks. -Have the RIGHT RESPONSE to GOD. -Be willing to RECEIVE HELP. -Be willing to CHANGE.
When we GET PAST THE PAST, we can FINISH STRONG.
March 25, 2018 "He Will" - Deuteronomy 31:1-8 Rev. Ronald W. Floyd, Jr.
For many of us, fear is a constant companion in our lives.
Fear can hamper us from pursuing our dreams. Fear can hold us back from fulfilling our GOD-given purpose for our lives.
Fear kept the Israelites from entering the Promised Land for 40 years. What is keeping us from our Promised Land?
As Christians, we cannot let fear dictate how we live our lives.
The more we focus on our fears, the stronger they become.
The more we focus on GOD, the stronger His power becomes in our lives.
We need to remember that what GOD has done for us in the past, He can and will do in the future. -HE WILL be with us. -HE WILL provide for us. -HE WILL deliver us from harm. -HE WILL protect us. -HE WILL NOT fail us.
Times change, people change, circumstances change, but GOD NEVER CHANGES.

"Be You!" - John 10:10 Rev. Kenneth Slocum
You are unique-no one else can be you better than YOU.
GOD created you uniquely and gives you the power to be uniquely you.
You are LOVED You are SPECIAL You are NEEDED
You may not be what you WANT to be, but through the grace of GOD you are not who you USED to be.
GOD made you who you are, so BE YOU.

153rd Church Anniversary - Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church "Don't Be Foolish - Be an Example" - 1 Timothy 4:12 Pastor Ralph Crowder
The Church - GOD'S institution - is being ostracized as irrelevant in today's society. People are choosing darkness over light, wrong over right.
As Christians, we need to be an example to the world - but we must start by being a good example to each other.
Our goal is maturity in the faith.
To be an example we must be willing to support the testimony of the church: -By attending faithfully -By living a Godly life -By giving regularly
March 4, 2018 "Don't Let Your Light Go Out!" - Matthew 5:14-16 Pastor Ralph Crowder
Light is pleasant and good. Light is the symbol of the presence of GOD.
The pillar of fire in the wilderness was GOD'S assurance to the Israelites that He was with them.
As Christians, we possess the light of the Holy Spirit.
As the Church, our purpose is to let our light shine in a dark world.
When we let our light shine... -It illuminates our LIVES: Just as the moon and stars reflect the light of the sun, Christians should reflect the light of Jesus. -It illuminates the LIVES OF OTHERS: When we reflect the love and light of Jesus, it affects all those around us. -It illuminates the GOSPEL: We illuminate the Gospel by sharing it.
Jesus gave us His light through His death and resurrection. We must not let our light go out!
